Hutchins, 42, was working as the Director of Photography on the film in Santa Fe, New Mexico last October when she was shot and killed with a loaded prop gun held by Baldwin, 64. Exactly one year later, Baldwin shared a heartbreaking photo to commemorate Hutchins’ death with a picture of her doing what she loved behind the camera. “One year ago today…” the actor wrote in the caption of his Instagram post on Friday, Oct. 21, which featured an image of Hutchins crouching down to operate a film camera. The first anniversary of the tragic accident comes just weeks after Baldwin and other Rust producers settled the civil suit filed against them by Hutchins’ family. According to the terms of the settlement, the unfinished film will resume filming in January 2023, with Hutchins’ widower, Matthew Hutchins, as the executive producer. Baldwin shared the news to Instagram earlier this month, writing in part, “We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the resolution of this tragic and painful situation.” The 30 Rock alum also claimed that the settlement was reached with the best interest of Hutchins’ son, Andros, in mind. At the time, Hutchins’ husband stated, “I have no interest in engaging in recriminations or attribution of blame (to the producers or Mr. Baldwin). All of us believe Halyna’s death was a terrible accident. I am grateful that the producers and the entertainment community have come together to pay tribute to Halyna’s final work,” per Deadline. While the civil case has officially been settled, the Santa Fe County District Attorney’s Office previously hinted individuals involved in the incident, including Baldwin, could still face criminal charges over the matter, according to the New York Times.
