Why did Tayshia and Zac break up?
Tayshia addressed her split from Zac during the taping of Michelle Young’s Men Tell All (which aired Dec. 6) after Bachelorette co-host Kaitlyn Bristowe pointed out that she wasn’t wearing her engagement ring. “All I have to say is that I’m heartbroken,” Tayshia admitted. “But, we tried really hard and I still love him very much, and I’m not sure what the future holds, and you know how it is. It’s really tough.” Tayshia then walked off set right in the middle of the special, apparently too broken up to keep continue with the Men Tell All taping. That’s just one reason viewers found the whole way she was asked to address her breakup to be quite awkward.

When did Tayshia and Zac get engaged?
There were mixed reports about where Tayshia and Zac may be headed as a couple leading up to The Bachelorette Season 16 finale, with Reality Steve first reporting that Tayshia and Zac got engaged, only to break up due to Tayshia’s unfinished business with contestant Brendan Morais. Reality Steve later corrected himself and said that Tayshia and Zac are “engaged and still together.” Steve doubled down on Twitter during the season finale, saying in December 2020, “Took me a while, and I assumed it was the case as I wrote today, but I can confirm now that Tayshia and Zac get engaged in finale and are still engaged today.” After the finale aired, Tayshia shared video on her Instagram Stories showing herself and Zac laughing and joking for the camera. “Christmas came early!” she wrote over one. Tayshia also joked about how Zac is a huge sneaker fan, adding, “What did I do?” Zac chimed in with, “You said yes is what you did!” He also shared the same videos, writing “love you” over them. In addition, Zac shared an incredibly sweet photo of himself and Tayshia from their wedding shoot date, writing, “My ride or die. I love you, Tayshia!” in the caption. Shortly after the season wrapped, Tayshia and Zac made it clear that they were all in. “We’re moving in together,” Tayshia said on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast with Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin, before adding that she planned to keep her place in California. They spent the holidays on the East Coast, where Zac is from. “Christmas, New Year’s… we’re going to be East,” Zac said on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. And, he pointed this out: There’s “no return flight yet… We’re just going to play it by ear.” The couple stressed that they’re ready to just live life as a normal couple. “I’m excited to date her and do some things that we would do in a typical relationship,” Zac said on the Bachelor Happy Hour. “That’s really important to me,” Tayshia chimed in. “Just date me.” The couple also did an interview with GMA, where they suggested that they’ve been spending a lot of time together since filming wrapped. Tayshia said the pandemic made things “a tad bit easier” for them to sneak around, undetected. The couple also said that they’re not planning to get married anytime soon and reiterated that they want to date first and focus on being engaged. But, Zac said, he wants “a big wedding” when they finally do get married.
What do Tayshia’s parents think of Zac?
It seems like Tayshia’s parents grew to love Zac before the November 2021 breakup. Tayshia’s mom, Rosario, once asked Zac where he wanted to be in five years with her daughter, and he’d said that he wanted them to be married. “I see us happy, madly in love with each other, falling more in love every day,” Zac explained. “And I see us starting a family.” Rosario was pretty happy about the latter part. “Zac seems very honest and caring,” Rosario later told the camera, adding that, “The chemistry seems very good.” Desmond also had this to say in an interview: “I like Zac, he’s a good man. Made me feel at ease. I’m looking forward to seeing what may come out.” Next, Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Clayton Echard’s Season 26 of The Bachelor
