The interview will be for Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special and air on Sunday, March 7 at 8 p.m. CBS announced in a statement, “Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure. Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.” The interview will essentially be the first time that the pair truly speak out on their lives together, and it comes at a poignant time for the pair: They not only just revealed that they’re expecting their second child, but Meghan also recently spoke out about her own treatment from the press: After winning a privacy lawsuit against The Mail on Sunday, Meghan noted, “The world needs reliable, fact-checked, high-quality news,” adding, “We all lose when misinformation sells more than truth, when moral exploitation sells more than decency, and when companies create their business model to profit from people’s pain.” Prior to the lawsuit’s victory, it was reported that Meghan felt “unprotected” by the monarchy during her pregnancy with son Archie and that she was frustrated with being unable to defend herself from allegedly false reports. Since stepping down as senior royals, they have had significantly more freedom to use their own voices. Winfrey is close with the couple, who live near the talk show host turned mogul in Montecito, California. Harry and Winfrey are currently collaborating on a project about mental health for Apple TV+. Winfrey has also endorsed Clevr Blends, a woman-owned wellness business in which Meghan is an investor. They have also launched their own Archewell Audio podcast through Spotify, where you’ll be able to hear more from the couple moving forward.
