Princess Nina dazzled in a custom white gown by Chanel featuring a portrait neckline and a dramatic train. She also wore the Antique Corsage Tiara, a delicately wrought pearl-and-diamond family heirloom that was lent to Nina by her mother-in-law Queen Anne-Marie. Her bridesmaids wore 60s-style white dresses with a yellow flower print, and kitten heels. The newlyweds were pictured embracing in the evening sunlight in front of Athens’ Metropolitan Cathedral following what will surely be their final wedding ceremony. Nina and Philippos were married in December 2020 in an intimate wedding ceremony at a Swiss ski resort followed by a party last June. Due to COVID restrictions, only their fathers were present at their first wedding. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were both guests at yesterday’s celebration. Beatrice gave birth to a daughter, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, in September. Nina is an heiress to VistaJet, the airline company owned by her billionaire Swiss father. Despite Nina and Philippos’ titles, they are members of a branch of the Danish royal family. The Greek monarchy was abolished in 1973. According to Vogue, “The ceremony marked the first time a Greek royal has married at the cathedral since Prince Philippos’s parents, King Constantine II and Queen Anne-Marie, said their vows there in 1964.” Philippos proposed to Nina on the beautiful Greek island of Ithaca, made famous by Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey. In a post on Instagram following Philippos’ proposal, Nina wrote, “My dearest Philippos. I love you today, I will love you tomorrow and forever. You make us happier, better and stronger. I cannot wait to spend the rest our lives together.” Next up, See the Intimate Snap of Princess Eugenie Dancing at her Wedding Released to Mark Three Years of Marriage
